Default Driving School recommendations?

Anyone have info on which driving school would be best?

Criteria:
Nearby something where the wives and babies (age 1-3) can entertain themselves.
Small preference for west coast.
Emphasis on skills that can be used in real-world performance driving w/A6.

TIA!

ACNA (quattroclub) evetns are great for first-timers. And 2nd timers. And 3rd timers.

Default Work sent me to Mid Ohio. It was pretty informative.

$700/day and I would recommend the two day course, but not much for the wife and kids to do around there.

Default The Alfa driving school! We take all kinds, including Audi owners ;-)

In fact some of the guest teachers in the more advanced levels are Audi owners. Very laid back and friendly. Only about 50% of the cars there are Alfas.

Two days for around $170. You'll spend a total of two hours in the classroom, two on a skidpad, and another two on the short track, each day.

The next one is the beginning of March. Sign-up has started already.

You should also look at the QTR Club and the official Audi Challenge. If you find that you really like it, then go to the Panoz Audi driving school back east. That is considered the ultimate school short of going to the Audi snow and ice school in Europe.

all the info you'll need for the Alfa school

Default I keep thinking about Skip Barber at Lime Rock. Might do it in the Fall.

Do you know any graduates? I don't and would be curious for some feedback. Thinking about the 2 day class (NOT the "racing" class).

Try the Panoz school. They have some Audi specific courses.

Every coupla months, they have a big advertorial section that features all the many and varied driving schools across the country. You can probably buy the back issue. RACER magazine also has a lot of ads, but their orientation is a little more career-oriented.

You might also check to see if the BMW CCA has a chapter near you, they often have track days and all are welcome.
