Default Just talked to my Dealer about the same for my A6 2.7...Yes

I have heard that the daytime running lights are the Fog lights, not the low or high beams at a reduced wattage. Had planed to ask the Service Manager when I take it in next.

He also thought that they could program it to delay shut-off for a few minutes, Park it in a Barn...light switch on the other side. It's a long walk with a lot of shin-banging objects in between. Anyone have more/better info?

Thanks!

Default You'll post details when you know them???

Some of our dealers might not know about this and they may need some "convincing" with details.

Default '00 or '01?

The schematics I've seen for '99 and presumably '00 look purely mechanical...i.e. there are no computer controls in between the headlight switch and the headlight/foglight bulbs... Not to say that control of the input power isn't possible, but again it didn't look like it on the schematics I've seen.

Good luck, and keep us updated.

Default Have made this Modification to my 00 2.7T

The Daytime Running Lights (DRLS) I did my self and was a piece of cake. I purchased some very low profile halogen fog/ driving lights at pepboys ($45 aprox). If you pull the Audi fog light covers off you will see an empty cavity next to them for securing the tow hook. I purchased the slim line ones that looked kinda of like cat eyes because they were thin and would not interfere with towing the car should it ever have to be done. That possibility seems rare since tow trucks do not use the tow hooks to tow the car. I wired it to the heated steering wheel fuse in the fuse box. When you start the car they turn on. I have aimed them pretty low so they don't put off to much light at night with the regular fogs running and the xenon headlights. It is a pretty cool look at night. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks.....Scott

My Audi Site with FAQ's and Pics of my A6 2.7T
