Default ECU Chip Help Needed!

Should I go APR, GIAC, or O.CT?

Pros-Cons?

Would Diverter valves be necessary as well?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Default GIAC X-Chip iss my preference, and ...

get:

1. Bailey Motorsports Diverter Valves.
2. APR Bi-Pipe
3. APR Snub Mount
4. AWE S-Flow

These are all crucial upgrades to accompany your new chip.

I have been hearing great reports about OC.T chips. If you go with them, definatley call Bob or Pete at Stratmosphere. If you go with GIAC, call Ron at AWE Tuning.

My opinion on APR - loosing market share, loosing customers, loosing software technicians and testablility, software lacks progress (too long for updates), lack of respect for the customer, and chips are too "soft".

Good luck

1. Chip
I would get a full new ECU that is Chipped. This way you can keep the stock one, in case of issues/emergency or those non-track days. Cost is about $1,100.00USD

2. DVs - about $300.00USD

3. APR Bi-Pipe - about $350.00USD

4. APR Snub Mount - about $50.00USD

5. AWE S-Flow - About $200.00USD

Labor is relative to the shop you choose. I would look for an experienced AUDI tuner in your area. Drive far if you have to.

I live in the Bay Area. Know of any good Audi tuners here? Any idea how many hours of labor all these would be? Thanks!

Default Dyno Sport Racing is popular. New dimensions in Santa Clara is also well thought of. ND has just

changed owners. Haven't heard one way or the other on any changes they've made. If your a local boy, don't forget to check the Norcal forum now an then.

Where is the norcal forum?

Did you not chip your car? Did you go to either Dyno Sport or ND for your mod work? Thanks!

I heard the GIAC chips might be too "aggressive" on the engine. versus APR's. O.CT I heard is the most conservative and less likely to blow the engine. Is any of this true?

Default I've used DSR and have been satified with the work they have done. I haven't used

ND so, I can't comment on their work. To reach the Nor cal forum go up to the header bar and hit on Audiworld forums (not on select a forum) then scroll down to norcal. I provided a link just in case!

https://forums.audiworld.com/norcal/</a
