Default Embarrassed to say I curbed and destroyed...

...the sidewall on the Continental Contisports that I had on my S6. I pulled into my spot at work and removed a massive piece of rubber from the gummy sidewall of the right front tire (amazingly rim virtually unscathed). I considered the tire was unsafe to drive on and used the debacle as a catalyst for another set of tires. I now am driving on the Nokian WRs-I live in Michigan and consider that this "all-season" tire will serve me well. I realize that many are proponents of building a set of tires for each season but I will try all season for now. Updates will follow on Nokian performance since a AW forum search does not reveal any experiences of prior owners of S6 + Nokian...

Default You'll enjoy the Nokians this winter, and they'll be acceptable in the summer...

Unlike most all season tires which are geared toward summer use, the Nokians are geared toward winter. If you haven't come accross it yet, here's a review on them.

Default Thanks-I saw that review and others and noted...

...that Nokian Tires are fairly difficult to find. The company appears to have more of a niche/narrow segment market approach. As a result, I was only able to find one vendor in Western Michigan.

Nearly every review I encountered described that Nokian are one of the few brands to bear the "Severe Service Emblem" on an all-season tire.

Default There is no summer in Finland.

Nokians were designed for folks in northern climates with short summers and long winters.
