Default engine bay rewiring

I took the fuel rail off the other day to clean the injectors and after dickin around in there I noticed how hectic the wiring is in the engine. Its designed to look neat and all the wires are out of the way when its all buttoned up, but getting anything done is a huge PITA. I was thinking today that moving that huge pulmonary truck of wiring behind the firewall and drilling some nice holes for the trunks such as the injector and coil wiring would make navigation a little easier. Thoughts from someone crazy enough to consider this? Rednecktrucker I know you were thinkin about something like this.

LOL, I got excited when I saw rewiring.

All I've got to say is make sure you know why it is the way it is before you go messing with it. I can't tell you how many times I've "customized" something and removed some part or some attribute that I ended up missing. I plan to get in there and cut out all the automatic transmission wiring, so maybe I'll do a little scouting around at that time, but why would you want to get into the main harness? What is it you're trying to accomplish?

I'm really trying to clean up the engine bay, under the covers, everything is great, but I'm in there all the time and there are seriously wires al over the place. I'm trying to move as much as I can behind the firewall and out of the way.

Maybe I'm just bored and I am trying too hard to figure out cheap car projects...
