Default Check the timing belt cover....

It could be rubbing against the belt. I thought I had a defective water pump. With the engine off unclip the cover and take the cover off, then start the engine. If the noise goes away, then the cover wasn't put on correctly.

Btw, i can do that by just removing the inlet pipe and then the cover, right?
