Engine Temperature Dropping

I have a problem (I think!) whereby the engine temperature (which always showed exactly central on the temperature gauge) now drops lower on a downhill run (where the engine is not working hard). This only happens when a) the weather is colder [sub 50f]) and b) when the heater (aircon) is on. I am sure I didn't notice this last year. I suspect the thermostat/s. Any ideas out there?

Make sure your coolant level is correct

Thermostat. If it drops like a rock to the lowest level, then it's the sender unit. (Common prob.)

Sounds like thermo to me too. Just make sure the sender isn't bad though.
