error code 17536 P1128
I have an error code keep coming up of 17536 P1128 LONG TERM FULE TRIM - SYSTEM TOO LEAN BANK 1.
car is a 1,8T 2000MY avant with engine AWT.
I have replaced 3 of the vaccum hoses so far as they seemed very dry but engine light keeps coming on after about 50 miles of driving. Also sometimes when idling the revs with drop badly for a second then come back up ?
anybody got any ideas of what i need to look for ?
thanks
neil
A leak on the pressure side of the turbo will generally cause mass air flow sensor to think more air is delivered to engine than really is being delivered so the ecm will meter more fuel until the 02 sensor trims the fuel...unless the leak also leaks under closed throttle. So you generally have to check everything.
A smoke tester works as well but they're expensive. Dealers and indys often have them.
I had a problem with my 4.2A6 and a new intake manifold that still had a lean misfire condition...turns out a new OEM O-ring was leaking...the tech fitted a new slightly thicker O-ring that solved the problem. Only way to find the leaking O-ring was the smoke machine.
I did not know where to post it so I decided to write it here.
Friend of mine has Audi a4 1.8 t quattro 125 kw 170 km AWM
Error code: 17536 - BANK1 MULTIPLICATIVE MIXTURE ADAPTATION
I guess it refers to turbo or it is something going on with these vacuum hose ? I am not a machinist but he says that probably one of the "conductors" which goes to turbo is blowing the whole thing up.
But there so many of them that none of the machinists want to deal with that.
Sorry for my bad English, any ideas?
