Default ESP,ABS and Suspencion light on

To be able to change the stearing rack trim I had to disconnect the battery.
Everything went well without any problem.

After I connected everything back I started the car and a big OK came on my dashboard.
But after driving 10 yards ESP-BAS and Suspencion light came on and stay on for the rest of the ride.
Also air suspencion goes into manual.(if I adjust the hight manually everything works OK)

Now everytime I go for a drive same thing happend, big OK on screen (no warming lights on) and after a few yards all ON again.

Do not have a VAG COM cable so I am not able to read or delete any error away

Does someone have any idea hot to get ride of this warning light?

I know for sure that all three thing are working OK.Car did have a check up last week and VAG COM did not give any error code.

Look around and see if you left something unplugged. Other than that, you need VAG-COM.

I dont think I did. only removed the steering wheel plus Airbag.

Only had disconnected three connectors (from airbag) and all of three are back in place.

Is the steering wheel back on exactly as it was when you started?

Not the same.Steering wheel was not in line when driving straight, and now it is.
I only placed one notch from where it was before.

Just a guess, but I think you'll need to calibrate the steering and sensor, which requires a VAG COM cable anyway. Find someone who has one, or go to a shop.

Put it back on right, then get the car aligned.

Do you really think that moving the stearing wheel one noch will cause this problem?

Already tried to calibrate everything (steer max to the left and then to the right,then drove straigh for a couple of yards) but lights wont go away.

OK, I have here a VAG-COM cable.
I tried to calibrate the steering wheel sensor but some how I do not succeed.

To do this I followed the Ross-Tech method:

There are certain test conditions that must be met before doing this procedure:

Start the vehicle.

Turn the steering wheel one turn to the right and one turn to the left.

Drive in a short distance straight line on a level surface at a speed not higher than 20 km/h.

If the steering wheel is straight during the test drive then stop the vehicle with the wheels pointed straight

Ensure that the steering wheel is not moved again.

Keep the engine running and do not switch off the ignition

Procedure for performing the zero position calibration for the Steering Angle Sensor (G85) on VW Passat and Audi A4/S4, A6/S6, and A8/S8:

[Select]
[03 - ABS Brakes]
[Login - 11]
Enter 40168
[Do It!]
[Basic Settings - 04]
Group 001
[Go!]

This will store the zero (centered) position of the steering wheel. There should be a displayed message that reads: "Steer. angle sender compens OK". If you get an error, it may mean the Login was not successfully performed.

My problem is that I do not get any OK.

I think that this is because I use the Login code: 40168,like the wiki saids.Wonder if this is the right code,because when I place the mouse where I need to enter the code I get the next list:

Login:

0?xxx: Chassis
5 = Audi A8 (4D)
7 = Audi A6 (4B)
9 = Audi A4 (8D) / VW Passat (3B)
0x?xx: Brakes
3 = FNRG-60 (Teves/ATE) [PR-1LA/1LG]
4 = FN2/HP2 (Dual-Piston) [PR-1LX]
5 = FN3 (Teves/ATE) [PR-1LB]
6 = C54 (Lucas) [PR-1LZ]
0xx?x: Engine
5 = 4/6/8 Cyl. Diesel
7 = 4/5 Cyl. Gasoline
9 = 6/8/12 Cyl. Gasoline
0xxx?: Transmission
3 = Manual with Low Range (only Audi A6 Allroad)
5 = Manual
7 = Automatic (01N/01V)
9 = Multitronic (01J)

Can someone tell what the right code is that I need to insert.Is that 40168 or code corresponding to hardware I have (using the list above)

Problem finally solved.
Reson that i was not able to re-calibrate my steering wheel was the fact the the angle sensor was rotated 360 dgr to the right.
Vag-com software gave me a -360 when wheel was pointing straight.

After removing the wheel and rotating the sensor 360 to the left, No light come on again.

Can someone rename this topic to SOLVED.

That way people can use it when ever they have the same problem after removing the steering wheel.
