I have become very specific in what I am looking for and I have 6 months to find (as that is when my current warranty becomes expired)

I have really narrowed it down to a:

2001 4.2
Silver/Black
Sport/Xenon

Pre owned and Audi Assured between 30-50K miles.

Year, Color, Sport, Xenon and miles. Trying to keep it around $30K or less.

I have spoken with a few dealers and they will keep me informed (I hope).

I know lots of people lurk these forums and perhaps some business savy dealer is reading this looking to score a few more sales.

Well, if you are out there and have this set up available, pleae contact me.

I just want to say however, I am not interested in anything else. Even if it has everything except.....one thing, I dont want it. If its a great deal for a 02 at the price I am looking to spend great, but if not, do not try and sell me on it. This is what I am looking for and I will not compromise.

How many 01's in silver/black with the sports package were made that year?

I just bought the same EXACT car you're looking for (01, 4.2, prem, xenon, sport, silver/black, 39k, AA, and in absolutely mint condition) for $30,900. It was originally listed for $38,990 more than 3 months ago!!

I'll keep my eyes open for you. The best price qouted to me from a guy who only buys Audi at auctions (his brother has an independent Audi/Porsche shop) for the same car is $29,000 after his fees and transportation costs. I figure add $2,000 for a third party warranty, and the car is aobut the same, except mine has the AA warranty, which I feel is a tab better. Let me know if you want his name. He actually told me that my AA purchase, even at $32,500 would be a good buy if it's exactly the way I want it.

Where did you pick your 4.2 up? 4.2's in the SF Bay Area are going for about 20% more than what you paid.
