excuse the intrusion im looking for opinions on the 2002 S6 avant.
I am thinking of adding one to my car collection. I have a 2001.5 S4 avant which I love and will be keeping. I liked the S6, nice V8 grunt plenty of power, nicely appointed, a bit heavier than my S4 and not as nimble but still very nice overall. any opinions pro or con would be appreciated. only problem i see is that its black which looks nice but my A4 was black and a lot of work to keep clean

Go for it
It only weighs about 150 lbs more than than the B6 S4 Avant but has much more space and for the most part, the same engine. At about $15k-$20k less than a new S4 Avant, I think it's a no brainer.

VAG seems intent on jacking up the price substantially for the next generation S4.
Judging by what I have heard from other forum members, a loaded new gen. S4 will have a window sticker that is about $11K higher than the last gen. S4. I really doubt that kind of sense of increased value will be present in this car.
