Default Front caliper leak

My 2001 A6 2.7T developed a soft brake pedal the other day. I took a look at it today and it is leaking from the caliper. i first thought it was a broken hard line leaking near where it connects to the caliper, so I replaced it today with new. It is still leaking and as best I can tell it is coming from the bottom of the caliper. My assumption is that the seal is not holding on the piston on the bottom of the caliper and it is leaking. It is leaking a lot and is not drivable. I was going to just replace the caliper, but wanted to get opinions from others to see if anyone else has experienced a leak from the piston like this? If so, can a rebuild kit be used to replace a seal? Or is the only fix to replace the caliper? Finally, where is a good place to get inexpensive rebuilt caliper? Advanced Auto list them for about $90 which I thought was pretty cheap, expected it to be more. Thanks in advance for any help.

Just remove and rebuild the caliper yourself. Chances are the seal is just bad. Worst case you can always buy a new or rebuilt caliper.

Agreed, I rebuilt both my front calipers a few weeks ago because one piston had become a bit sticky.
I ordered the repair kit from the main dealer which was cheaper than buying elsewhere!
