Fuel additive/injection cleaner?
Real quick advise here folks. Our Avant is driven in the city mainly only about 20 miles a day, hardly out on the highway. We are going for about a 100 mile drive tomorrow night and I want to put something in the fuel to clean up the system if appropriate at all. It should get hot enough on the drive tomorrow to help.
Thanks so much,
Bruce

Redline from Pepboys and..
be sure to buy a longneck funnel from there too (trust me). $8 total. Chevron Techron is also a decent choice. If you're predominately city driving, then you should use a fuel system cleaner about once a month or so. Others will probably suggest you search the archives.

2nd the Red Line & funnel. You can't pour it directly w/ the Redline bottle in an A6...
but w/ my wife's IS300, the bottle fits just fine w/o the funnel. Go figure.<ul><li><a href="http://www.redlineoil.com/products_fueladditives.asp">Red Line Fuel System Cleaner</a></li></ul>

I may be engaging in wishful thinking, but my use of PRI-G from batterystuff.com seems to be...
worthwhile. This stuff is highly respected in boating circles. Jose (s4master1) was very surprised when I didn't have any misfires per VAG. Not sure if there is a connection. I use CA Chevron 91, and add BG44K prior to a 2nd semi-annual M1 0w40 oil change.
