Goodbye folks ;-( Just bought a Honda Pilot to replace the A6.
As much as I love the V8 purring under me, the time has come to replace her. I was so depressed when I finally decided to replace the A6.
Just picked up the Pilot last week, and will be selling the A6 within the next couple of weeks. I just have to detail and get her ready for sale. I'll be looking to get rid of the H-sport sways, BBS VZ, Ronal R-38, etc. soon. I'll post what I don't sell locally in the classifieds.
I held out as long as I can with 2 cars, but with 2 kids (8 and 5), their friends, and a house (many projects), the SUV was calling. I pretty much used up all my favors with friends who own minivans/trucks/SUVs. Meeting my buddy at the store (at their convenience) to buy bulky stuff is getting too tiresome for me.
I'm hoping I'll return to Audi in the near future, but it'll probably be the B6 S4 or D2/D3 A8.
In any case, thanks for the support and wealth of knowledge everyone has contributed. I'll still poke my head here once in a while, if you don't mind.

We love our Pilot! Great family hauler...
we seldon ever use the 3rd row, but handy to have. When my wife and her girlfriends went to SoHo last winter, they all piled in the Pilot and made a day of it! Can't do that in the A6/S6, or a Toureag!

Here are the very few that made it onto my wife's Pilot...
running boards (the flat steps, not the tube)
rear mud flaps (it only came with front)
cross bars for the roof rails (for the occasional haul of the ladder, etc.)
That's about it...

You won't know what you'll be missing until you compare both vehicles side by side...
For example, the leather smell....the A6 is 5 years old, and it still smells glorious. The Pilot...it's ok. More like benzene than leather.
And then you compare the quality of leather....no contest. Wonder if I can apply Lexol conditioner to the Pilot to soften it up a little.
I just clayed, polished, IHGed, and wax the A6....and the silver paint shines so much better than the new Pilot's silver.
I know I'm comparing two different classes of vehicles, but it just goes to show the beauty and craftsmanship of the A6's fit and finish.
I decided to sell the A6 now because I still have 5 months of CPO warranty left, and also because the Pilot was available for $2100 under dealer invoice with 4.99 financing from local credit union.
Yes, I have already ordered the running boards, rear mud flaps, and cargo cover. Already have a few other mods plannned. Any good forums out there besides hondapilot.org?
