Default Sounds OK, parts and special tools cost me about $300. PS I don't have to pull the front of the car.

Didn't have to pull the lock carrier? How did you do that?

I don't have to pull the front end of the car off. I have a 97 A6 12V Big Boy Engine Bay.

Default Nice, that's how it should be. It's a pain to disassemble the whole front end for . . .

a 5-min. job. Well, maybe 10 min.

Default Yes, (as little as I know) about the maintenance procedures on the new A6, I think they could force

me towards an A8. I really don't know but I do like the way the old A6 is "fairly" easy to work on since I do all the work I can.
