Has anyone done the clear corner conversion?

I don't know that you can have it done
Because it is illegal. Generally shops won't do work that will cause your car to be not DOT-legal because they don't want to get sued. You see they could have a liability in some pretty forced circumstances where it could be determined that your car not conforming to the laws could have led to an accident. I know it's strained, but liability is a big issue in the US.
Someone on this board did the conversion (perhaps they will pipe up) and said that it is a total pain in the a** on the A6 because the headlight units are all one piece. I think you have to drill a hole in the refractir (that is the mirrored surface behind the turn signal), reach in with a tool and then nibble out the reflector (meaning the yellow plastic reflecting strip). Then you have to seal the hole. If you don't seal the hole well enough, you will have problems like condensation in the unit. If this happens, or you mess up in any way you can't fix, you get to replace the whole headlight unit (which ain't cheap).
Another alternative is to buy the Euro headlight units, since they don't have the reflectors in the first place. This will be expensive though. Probably over $1K is a safe bet if you have Xenons.

I have seen one A6 with the clear corners. If I remember correctly
you can order them from a european Audi parts supplier but you are talking some serious $$$$. If they are xenon you are talking close to $1500 with shipping etc . . . It was too pricey for me. Even if they are not xenon you will get a whole sealed unit with the clears so it will be only a few hundred less than xenon.
You can try the various homemade remedies but I would hate to be practicing with the dremel on a $600 part. IMO the clear corners look great on the A6. I have seen a silver A6 and they looked seamless. However, for something that is such a minor improvement in looks I would rather spend the money on some other part (wheels/tires etc. . .)
In any case, it's your car and your $$$ so give it a try.

I think the only way is with a dremel and handy work or $$$ for Europarts
I would love to do this cuz it cleans up the looks so much.
yes..its against the rules...but generally not implemented, especially cuz the bulb is still yellow (unless you change that too) and it looks right when the turn signal is on....??

Yes it is not DOT -legal....but
shops often do things that they will claim is for show cars only. Many times you actually see parts that are manufactured (eg blue rear light assembly or darkened front lamps) will have that written in big letter on the box. If you go to a custom shop, you may never see those boxes. They are cover.... you are not.
