Hazards went off by themself ?
After lunch around 1:30 today I parked in the sun and left the front windows cracked about an inch on each side so it was not a hot box when I get in after work.
My boss left at 4pm and called me from his cell to tell me I left my hazards on.
I went out to the car and they were blinking twice as fast as usual. I unlocked the car and they were still going. Inside, I noticed the hazard button was not pressed or on, or flashing. I started the car and they stopped flashing. I locked the car and put the windows up, looking out the window 15 minutes later, they are not on again.
Was it because I left the windows cracked? I do it all the time but usually for only short periods. I know there is a security feature but this does not seem right?
Hope it was a one time deal. Any thoughts are welcome? (but no silly answeres from no.dot, gdog and fin)

Do hazards keep blinking after the alarm shuts up? <m>
If you forgot to disable the alarm, maybe it went off and finally gave up on the noise but the lights kept blinking. HPH

Common if window cracked. Should disable motion sensor, or tilt & cover sunroof. Sound stops...
... after a while to keep from annoying neighbors and creating bad image for Audi. ;^)
The thing to do is either:
(a) tilt up the sunroof and close the opaque cover save for a half inch, or
(b) crack windows as much as you want, but disable the motion sensor, using the little button to your left near the door as you exit the vehicle, so that air currents don't set off the alarm.
