Default Heated Steering Wheel on 01 A6 2.8

Ok...I was under the impression that any 2.8 with the Winter Package had the heated steering wheel option included...

I don't know about you guys, but mine has never worked. I have both the premium and the winter package in my Audi but i don't think i've ever noticed the heated steering wheel work.

Does anyone know how to identify whether its working or not?

Default You're probably right...

Stupid Car salesman....

Our '01 allroad 2.7T had it. Nice little bonus.

And it is listed in the 2.8 manual, and is identified in the fuse box. I've also wondered.

Don't all 2001 A6 have the same manual?

Default My friends '00 A6 2.8 had it, but I think they stopped it in '01. My '01 2.7t does not have it ...

... even though it has the winter pkg.

Do you have a fuse in position #27? Assuming you don't have an Avant...no fuse 27 = no heated wheel

You might have to dumb that down a lil for me....where do I find position 27.

I'm assuming under the hood...but thats as far as my knowledge takes me.

Default My '01 allroad has it. It only comes on for ~5mins after driver's seat heater is turned on.

I'm not sure if the seat heater needs to be on high (6) or not. Never really paid attention. It doesn't get "hot", just warm enough to take the chill off the wheel.
