Heavy Sputtering - '02 A6 2.7T
So I just jumped into my car and it was sputtering so bad. I thought maybe bad gas, but obviously not the problem after looking into that. It has 99k on it, and just had new timing belt, 80k mi service, new brakes, auxiliary pump leak fixed, new O2 sensors etc. in December of '08. They said my car should be golden for a while, Anyone have any ideas as to why my car is acting this way? TIA...

cel is on...havent pulled codes yet....don't have a vag-com, and am hesistant about taking it in again after spending so much cash, and being re-assured my car would be problem-free for quite sometime.
I guess that doesnt help my situation.

I have had that happen to me before while I was driving...pretty freaky. Turns out that all 6 cylinders misfired at the same time...virtually impossible for all 6 coilpacks and plugs to go out at once. My mech put some gas treatment in the tank...told me to run the car til the tank was empty and get gas from a decent gas station. My point isn't to say your issue is gas...its more about vag-com. Knowing what codes the car is throwing will save you some heartache at times. And you *could* go to autozone and use there scanner if you don't have any other options. Its not as thorough as vag-com but it will give you some idea of what's going on.

I didn't drive on it...btw, had it flatbed towed (thank god for AAA). Turns out the fault codes showed something misfiring and it turned out that the coil amps are faulty. They said everything looked fine, but there was nothing getting to the coils...have to order parts wait till tuesday. Livermore Audi costs $900.00 including diagnosis, parts, labor.
