Default HELP: TIP not working

I have a 2000 4.2 and for some strange reason the "tip mode" is not working. When I drive thecar in "D" the car seems fine. No misshifts, no slipping , nothing. When I move the lever to "tip mode" that cars stay in auto. Also the center display does not change to show the "5 4 3 2 1", it stays in the auto mode. Already did STFA, nothing came up. Any suggestions?

Default Check fuse #14, and also...

That I think is the fuse for a few things, including the overhead lights, Homelink, etc.

If the fuse is fine, also check the magnet under the shiftgate that is the sensor for the tip mode.

Here is the pic of the magnet:

Default Re: if the magnet & the fuse doesn't work.....

I think the fuse is fine if multiple things are on that fuse (i.e. homelink, etc.). In the pic that Boston Driver provided which part would be the magnet and where could I get a maget and/or the circuit board.

Default Probably the switch magnet got displaced...

... out from its location on the sliding plastic(under chrome shift plate). Do a search for "tip switch magnet" (under my user ID) and you will find one of my previous posts on how I fixed a friend's with similar symptoms. Pretty easy job to do yourself if you can get the shift **** off!.

I would've given you the post, but search doesn't seem to be working now.
