Yep. One there are aftermarket immo bypassers that simply read off the RF immo code from a key, and transmit it before starting the car. Or, if you want to go the technical way, someone with access to almost any OBD dongle with nefmotos soft, can read the EEPROM, and literally shut off the IMMO capabilities.

If you need help with any of that, just give me a shout.

My 01 has remote start, and it has a 6 speed. The remote starter activates a relay that bypasses the clutch interlock switch. It still requires the pedal to be depressed when not using the remote starter, and won't start in gear due to the interlock switch.

Whats wrong with using 2 magnetic reed switches, and placing a small earth magnet on the gear stick? Works fine on my A4.

Just a technician and very realistic, why would you need "two" mag reed switches when you show one and the prox mag?

I service plenty of ice machines and other equipment that use one set for the proximity of a swinging panel so the control board knows when it has opened.

This is a great way to integrate a remote starter for a manual with out a doubt, but your comment on recoding the immo to ignore is a little far out from the truth because doing this will also drop out certain security features.

Do you think your replying to a kid, eh?

I only said its a side option. Best option is to use an aftermarket Immo bypass unit that saves the RF id. That's my old audi, I got off with using one switch, and on my A6, sadly I had to use two as the positioning didn't quite work, so I mentioned two.

Who said I thought you were a kid? Never looked down on you, just thought you were a bit pessimistic in not seeing a possibility like this! Besides, speaking of kids, I'm 20

Long story short, everything is possible, if you put your mind to it.
