Default How do Vogtland Coilovers ($1,092) stack up against H&R Coilovers ($1,215)?

Found a set of Vogtland Coilovers for $1,092, origionally $1,550. The H&R Coilovers are $1,215 down from $1480. I know nothing about coilovers, so any information would be appreciated. Thanks

Default Not too many testomonials here for Vogtlands on the C5, but I'll tell you that.....

the B5 guys seem to really rave about the Vogtland coilovers for their cars.

Price difference is only $133, several people here will comment positively on the H&R's.

Default What are you looking for (besides a minor price difference)?

I do not know how the Vogtland c-os are for the A6, but I have several years worth of driving, track, and auto-cross time on the H&Rs. No problems with them after 5 years of use.

The H&Rs are very good for every-day driving, with and without full loads. Aggressive street driving, like canyon-carving, or simple auto-crosses are easily handled, but aggressive track driving and harder high-speed auto-crosses are getting out of their performance range.

As I said earlier, it really depends on what you are expecting from going to coil-overs. The best are the STaSIS motorsports, but this is a case of the best are the most expensive.

The B5 S4 guys might give you more info, but also ask them what they were after when they bought them.

Looking to drop vehicle yet maintain a comfortable ride. Maybe coilovers aren't the answer?

Default Look at the Eibach "Pro-Kit" for the A6. Matched springs and shocks

for a lot less than coil-overs. Comfortable/slightly sportier ride with a "good-looking" drop. Should easily pass the "significant other" test.

I say try'em. Save the cost difference as the differences are probably very little. Also you get to try a new product and share with us the experience.

Default I think shox.com has the best deal. Install costs for shocks and springs

about the same for coil-overs as the work involved is the same.

I have been told they do not make a Pro-System (matched) for the 01 A6 4.2?
