I guess I'm a noob - my A6 now runs!
I bought my 2000 2.7T a few weeks ago from some poor soul that had a water pump failure that caused the belt to slip and bend 15 valves.
The car is great, has only 99K miles and will clean up very nicely. Silver on black, with the cold weather stuff and a manual gearbox.
It took a while to clear out my last project and get this thing running. The Audi dealer removed the heads, they were good to their word an put everything in a box, almost down to the last nut and bolt. It was like a giant Lego set but not too tricky thanks to some pictures that folks posted for me.
I can't run it for long yet because the VW dealer is closed and I don't have a any G12 at home. Maybe tomorrow I'll just fill her up with water so I can go for a drive. I can't wait!

Congrats, good work figuring all that out and putting it together! If you had the
radiator hoses off, make double sure they are attached properly - these hoses can APPEAR to be on properly, clamp engaged, but be short of truly being fully clamped - and then they come off somewhere down the road.
Pull on the hose really hsrd, trying hard to remove it, in order to test that the clamp is fully engaged.
