I STFA. Results not found. Can a spacer be installed on the front spring perch?
I was thinking that rather than spend the $400 to change the springs on my son's C5 A6 2.7T, that possibly a spacer on the the lower front strut perch could work. I found lots of discussions about it when I STFA but no resolution if it worked. The other thing I was trying to find is if the stock non sport spring bushings are thicker or if not could I double up on the lower or upper using those as a spacer. Possibly they could be epoxied together? I only need to pick up about 1/2 and inch or so.
TIA

Not really...
The spring perch and the rubber isolator (top and bottom) are both formed like the spring - neither are flat - they are formed to the spring's helical shape.
Also, in order to install a spacer, if you had one, you'll need to go through the same amount of work as changing the spring. There is zero spring free-play with the strut fully extended.
