Default I think it's the AC compressor, AC troubleshoot

Hey again guys, still waiting on a solid solution to fix my central locking module on my other thread but in the mean time I atleast need my AC if my windows don't work.

So the things I know.
1) compressor doesn't kick on, engine module tells me it's off at all times
2) filled the refrigerant before any research because I'm stupid sometime. But the ac lines are warm to the touch at all times, I've read I need to empty the refrigerant to change the compressor
3) fuses and relays are fine
4) fans kick on and work fine

so as a result of this I believe it to be the compressor, am I wrong?
I have a new one coming in tomorrow and it'll take me a day to put it in but are there any tips in doing this? How do I safely remove the refrigerant and I've also read the compressor needs oil, what oil and how much? Is there a clutch I need to worry about? As always any help would be greatly appreciated thank again guys. 😁

Throwing parts at one of these cars without having a solid diagnosis is a fantastic device for transferring money from your wallet to someone elses.

I recommend a diagnosis by a qualified AC shop, perhaps one that specializes in Audis.

If you have money to throw parts at the car, you have money for proper diagnostic tools and manuals.

I'm cringing reading this post. You need to step back from this car and get someone qualified to help you.

I'm not sure how a bad compressor can be diagnosed if the clutch doesn't even click on. Is the low pressure switch working? Is the compressor plugged in at the block by the PS tank? Is the system overfilled due to the random addition of freon (probably)? Electrical issue need to be solved first. Then verify that compressor is working. Then evac and refill system with the correct amount of freon.

First of all releasing the refrigerant into the air is a criminal offense if you get caught. Disconnecting the lines will allow this to happen if you haven't evacuated the system first. To properly evacuate the system you need an a/c machine. The machine allows the safe and correct recovery of the old refrigerant without releasing it into the atmosphere. The machine will run a vacuum test to check for leaks and assuming there are none, refill the system. As george said, if you have money to throw parts at the car you have money to take it to an a/c pro. About the only thing you can do at home is get a set of a/c gauges and check for proper charge and pressure levels. No offense intended but it would seem your experience level is pretty low mechanically speaking. You should seek professional guidance on the repairs; otherwise you will most assuredly cause further damage/problems. (4Driver4 is on point here.)

I don't know if it's the ac compressor I think it is That is why I was hoping for advice on anything else it could be, I wasn't going to release the refrigerant into the air. What are common problems for the AC with the description I provided? It's looking like I'll be bringing it to a shop regardless so is the AC system special and I have to bring it to Audi or will an ac specialist do?

Not following this diagnosis at all. If the clutch isn't kicking on, how can you even begin to tell if there is a problem with the compressor itself? Can it be turned by hand?

I say again:
