Fact is the 3.0 is lacking in the power department.
I was amazed to see that the kbb on my 03'3.0 with 25k is only $25k whereas for a 03' 4.2 with 35k it's $35k!!!
The PES upgrade would prob cost me around $5k, but it wouldn't increase the value of the car.
If I plan on keeping the car for another 2-3 years, isn't the PES a good option? (please say yes!) Everything I read said it was very reliable.

Remember that you need to upgrade the brakes and suspension to match the power.
If you get 91 octane or live in a hot climate or drive the car under prolonged heavy load, you may end up with pinging. Other folks have no problems whatsoever. It's a crap shoot.

I'd get a 4.2 with a reliable engine and a warranty before I spent 5K on something that...
...will effect the value and reliability of your car.
4.2's plenty fast for what this car is and will be worth more in the end.
