I had to go to Darien CT for work monday and tuesday.. Left VT at 6am monday morning.. flew most of the way (80+) till I hit rain in Mass.. Same coming back up.. but for traffic, I made great time..
With each passing mile, the car seems go just get better. Even though the ride is soft, the handling is very nice at speed.. And the 2.8 has more than enough go to maintain 80+ all the way up 91 north, without ANY effort.
Upon arriving, after 3+ hours, there is NO driver fatigue.
I love this car.

I have done 3 - 2,000 mile round trip drive 16 hours non stop each way..
each time I emerge from the car after 16 hours, I am so not tired.
The car loves to just loaf along at 90 mph

agreed, rock solid at speed and the most comfortable I've ever been
On the flip side, the most uncomfortable thing to ride long distances in is a Chevy Suburban. I think flour sacks would be more comfortable to sit on - I've logged about 10,000 road trip miles in them.

Agreed. Did a SanFran->Laguna->San Diego and San Diego->SF in 4 days. 4 guys, w/golf clubs
and gear. Yeah it was a masterpiece in packing in the trunk, but it was a great, trip for a full car.
No one believed we could get all that gear in there, but managed to get 4 full sets of clubs in their bags, 4 duffle bags, 1 sleepging bag, 2 brief cases, and a poker chip set (<= don't ask).
Guys in the back were very comfortable, and having driven the whole route, I loved it.

Agree completely. The last month I have been doing a lot of driving. Two round trips from NYC to Boston, and this weekend from NYC to Montreal and back. After over 6 hours in the car (2.7TQM), I suffer little if any fatigue. The sport seats are terrific for my bad back. Just crank up the tunes on the Ipod and driving is a pleasure.

Absolutely
I've done 5 - 8 hours several times in my 4.2. As everyone else said, this car was made to cruise effortlessly. If I get in the car with a back ache, I emerge without one, the sport seats are that good. This car was a godsend when I put 10k miles on it in 6 weeks a couple summers ago.
All of my 5 - 8 hour trips include the WV turnpike (NC to WV, NC to KY). The northern 20-something miles of the WV turnkpike are just one sharp curve after another. A blast to drive early in the morning before any traffic is on the road. With my V1 to watch out for bears and my EZ Pass to dance through the toll booths, there's no reason to stop other than to fill up on some Starbucks. ;-)
BTW, my warranty ends next week (4 years). Fingers crossed!

I agree too, I love traveling in our car...
Many trips to VA & The Carolina's from ATL. We also drove it to Miami, FL. That was a 10 hour drive and I wasn't the least bit tired (My 03 Passat GLX is also great to travel in-Chicago to ATL- I wasn't tired at the end of trip either).
Both of the cars are great to travel in!
