If thinking about selling, check if you can get credit for your next car
Might be worth checking to see if you'd qualify for credit before you consider selling your car and paying off the credit you already have.
High depreciating cars don't seem to be a safe enough asset for some lenders.
While I was looking at a BMW 745i and arranging a test drive, the dealer told me "oh sorry, that car is pretty much 99% sold". A couple of days later they called me back and said it was available. The dealer told me that the prospective buyer failed to get his credit. Nobody expected that. The dealer knew the guy, he'd bought several cars from them over the years, still had a really good credit rating and a really good job. The credit crunch seems to have kicked in to the level where highly rated people aren't able to get credit.

The Banglebutt trunk design is still bad, and the headlights go back too far
but the overall design has grown on me slowly over the last few years. I still think they should fix the lights/trunk, but I can live with it.
Two years ago I'd never have considered buying a wagon as my main car ;-)
Inside the 5 (and 7) though is just perfect, especially the seats and driving position.

Same with me how the E60 after time grows on you, personally I prefer the touring over the sedan...
(what a surprise there) but I hope u have a great time with the new ride. And don't be a stranger in these parts.
Just so you know, we are all expecting to see photos...

The Touring does look better at the back
I almost bought a Touring, but the Sedan I ended up with was just absolutely perfect in every way imaginable (color(s), spec, mileage, price). It's also slightly faster without the extra glass and the heavier trunk door at the back. I never actually needed a wagon. When I got the A6 Avant, it was only because A6 Sedans are so much rarer. It was hard enough finding a 2.7T Avant. The 2.7T Sedan's are even rarer.

Really? I guess Audi shipped all the 2.7Ts to the US and left Europe with none!
Since I've been in Italy since Feb. '06 I've seen only one 2.7T avant (no, not yours), not a single 4.2 or 3.0, one 2.8 avant (in my neighboorhood) and a boatload of 2.5TDIs. I'm still jealous that you had the 2.7T avant while none are to be found in the US.
