I'm thinking about my next mod...I'm thinking of re-doing the HP2's on my A6...I'm thinking of ECS
cross drilled rotors, stainless steel brake lines and an good set of pads...has anyone changed out their brake lines to s.s.??? and which pads should I use?
I want to clean up the calipers and paint them and put "Audi" or an emblem on them...I see where people are installing the decal...I don't want to put a decal on them...I have a different idea: does anyone know of a metal audi emblem that can withstand the heat of the calipers and is small enough to install on the caliper bar (it's not called "bar" but I don't know what it's called)...

I'll be doing the same come summer, (minus the SS brake lines)....
Though I want to have my calipers powder coated, I'm not really interested in painting them.
I'm having a hard time deciding on pads because there are soooo many mixed opinions/reviews.

The ones that I used on the 2.7T are metallic decals...
and even if you found small metal audi rings, the adhesive may not stick with the heat. The metallic decals, covered in some clearcoat, seem to work just fine. Too ricey for you???

Add some hi-perf break fluid during the install of the lines. Lines are pretty easy to swap.
I was actually considering the same thing (caliper paint & lines, in addition to fluid flush and race pads) before VIR next month. I've also been missing the responsive brake pedal that my coupe had.
Have you sourced stainless lines yet?...maybe we can have a mod day some weekend and do both the pigs! I have access to two garage bays free of junk. :P

My Stoptechs (front) and stainless steel lines (4 corners) should be in this week.
I need to do them prior to VIR. I have a lift, a total of 5 garage bays, a couple of air impact wrenches, a vacuum bleeder, etc. If you want to make it a big party, you're welcome to come over to Fairfax

<grabs keys, heads out the door!!>
Where did you get the lines from?..what did they run?
I'd def be up to travelling to VA to do my lines, fluid, and maybe even a snub mount and caliper paint <angel face>

No not ricy, but I looked at pictures of after-market brakes (ie AP) the label is raised and looks
good on a rough surface and I think that it will bring out the look (it's all about the small details)...the clearance of the HP2's should be fine...
i researched adhesive...Durabond 950 is designed to adhere metal up to 2000 degrees...
now if I got the deal you had, I might be doing something else (tell the wife yet?)...with a good set of pads, rotors, fluid and ss brake lines I think the HP2 are exceptional brakes...but that's my oppinion...
