Default Inside: Pictures of the clips that hold the Symphony Radio in the dash...

In response to a poster requesting how to remove his (damaged?) radio, I took some pics of the clips on a radio that's been removed. Note I inserted a folded piece of paper into the "release tool" slots to show alignment.

I thought I might as well post them here just for anyone interested...

original post...

Default Removal of the radio...

Do you have pics of the tool that is used? It would be great to have a picture of that too if you have it!

Default I made my own removal tools...

I don't have pictures (though I could take them if there's enough demand). I made them out of brass sheet from a model/craft shop, cut with tin shears and filed to remove burrs. Took about 20mins (if that) to make 4.

I've seen a number of photos on the web of the real thing though (probably some in the Tech section).

Would be nice to have the pictures of both in one thread for the benefit of future searches. It's already a big help that you posted the pictures so finding the tool wouldn't be a big deal for someone who found this thread.

Default OK. Here are pics of aftermarket removal tools from the tech section

The OEM Audi tools have just one "blade" with a ring at the end that your finger goes through to pull it out with.
