Ipod/Symphony II/BlitzSafe
For whatever it's worth, I am trying to install an iPod in my 2002 S6 Avant, and ran into problems with the BlitzSafe adapter. I emailed BlitzSafe earlier this week, and they asked I return the adapter to them; I did.
Yesterday I received a phone call from Jose at BlitzSafe. He would like me to send the headunit out of the S6 to BlitzSafe so they can adjust their firmware to operate with the Symphony II. Jose said they would pay all costs and give me a free adapter to boot. But then, why would I want to incur the risk, and why would I want two adapters?
I will mull over shipping the headunit out, and post my decision Monday. Any comments welcome.

Same Thing Happened to Me
The Blitzsafe line-in adapter (I bought from Autotoys.com) does not work in any 02 A6 or Allroad. There are some recent posting on this in the Audio forum.
Yesterday, Autotoys spoke to me and asked that I remove the radio, mail it to them, and allow them to convert the firmware of the radio to operate like the 2001 and earlier radio so that the adpater would work. Who in their right mind would devote their own labor to remove a radio from an expensive A6 to have it reprogrammed by a company that did not even take the time to realize that the 2001 model adapter would not work with a 2002 radio?
No Thanks. I'll wait for Blitzsafe to make an adpater that works properly with a 2002 radio, instead of allowing Blitzsafe to modify my radio to operate like a 2001 radio.

Link to Blitzsafe Adapter Discussion
