Just had my windshield chip repaired. Looks like a little spider web.
They opened up the hole a little, put resin in and dry with UV light. The cost is $60 and paid by insurance. I can see a small spider web shape from the inside. Overall I still think it's better than replacing the whole thing.

It is better, when you consider the risks of having someone tamper with the factory seals on the windshield.
