I refuse to take my car back there
the service manager Jim or Robert whatever his name is, is an idiot and doesnt know the first thing about audis, AoA policy or customer service.

I TOTALLY AGREE: Until you are stuck with it for 3 days!
Dude, I'm with you on this.
I mean, I don't need an S8 loaner or something, but I'd sure appreciate a new style A4 1.8 even if its not Q. Audi N.A. needs to do something about their customer service; shxt...take a page out of MBUSA's book for godsake.
They look great in LeMans with the awe-inspiring R8's, they should continue that heritage onto their retail division.
I WONDER IF AUDI PERSONNEL HERE IN THE STATES EVER LURK ON THIS FORUM...THAT'D BE INTERESTING!!!

This is a common complaint here, but is as much AoA as your local dealer to be blaimed...
It's Audi themselves who don't recognize this as valuable part of customer retention. The dealers have to buy their 'Audi loaners' or foot the bill for the Enterprise rental cars. (and this costs the dealers a lot of money)
Of course my arguement to my own dealer has been, "Do you just want to be a 'Car Lot' or do you want the prestige and revenue related to being a factory authorized showroom for fine Germany luxury automobiles?, because there is a certain level of customer service implied and expected with the latter". I've always been able to pressure my dealer service department into a loaner of comparable size and quality to the car I'm bringing in for service, but there is always resistance at first if someone answers the phone that doesn't know me very well.

In The Valley
Me... work in Encino, bought the car and have it serviced by Keyes. I'll never buy from them again but haven't had any real complaints with service. I live closer to Pasadena so I'll shop at Rusnack.

San Marino/Pasadena here; hate the inconsistance services
I am leasing a 1999 A4 Avant from Rusnak and were very unhappy about their inconsistant in the services; some offers excellent service while some are bad. But I do know that they don't give out a loaner car on anything less a 30k service. I only received loaner car twice, once with a check engine light on, once for demaged brake with something stock in the rotor.
So next time when it comes to my second Audi I decide to give other dealship a try; went to Newport Audi to buy the new A4 when I was offered any excellent deal on a 2001 A6 2.7t silver/black with MSRP of $45,550. They made an offer I couldn't refuse. $39,000. So I took it know that I would pay almost the same for a top of the line non-negotiable A4 Avant. However, I never had the chance yet to take the car there for service since it's quite a bit farther away. I will let you guys know about the service there once I get the change to experience it.
