Default LS430 V A6 4.2......Finally, a decision

I am thankful for all of the debates. in the final analysis, the $62,000 LS 430 will lease for an identical monthly amount as the $57,225 A6 4.2.
It's a leasing anomaly. Audi has $5700 packed into their MSRP ($51536 invoice). Lexus has $9011 loaded over their $53017 invoice. Lexus also has a 2% dealer hold back; Audi doesn't. Residuals are calculated on the basis of MSRP. Today Audi's 54%, while higher than LEXUS' 53% doesn't benefit me, the lessee, because the Audi stickers for $5,000 LESS.

Lexus can offer a deeper discount and lease rates benefits by a higher residual value.

The Mystic Pearl Opalescent and Black Cherry Pearl are beautiful Lexus colors.

On Saturday, I will order a 2002 A6 4.2. The Exchange in Highland Park will throw in a set of 17" snows. The car will have NAV,Premium Pkg,Rear side airbags,Sport Pkg and Warm Weather Pkg.. It will be special ordered in Atlas Gray with a Platinum interior. Delivery in May 2002. I'm not looking back and have no regrets. I've had all Japanese cars since my 1981 Maxima 810. One Toyota, one Infiniti, three Legends and one Lexus later, I'm ready for my first German car.

Default NICE.... Re: LS430 V A6 4.2......Finally, a decision

Great choice....both are nice cars....but I would have made the same decision. I'm sure you will enjoy the 4.2...it's a completely different car than the LS.

Good call. Regardless of monetary concerns, the LS430 is butt UGLY!

Default Congrats! Keep us updated on the delivery process...I'm guessing that

we'll all soon be suffering from withdrawal/depression after Finman takes delivery of his S6.

I ordered a similarly configured 4.2 (2001) and the order went in early January 2001. Drove off the lot on March 30th. My order (all options except telephone, and standard color combo; sliver/onyx) didn't require any special order options, so maybe yours will take a bit longer to crank out.

Fantastic choice, you will love it!
