Mirror in reverse
Heh-heh... forgot about this feature.
Believe it or not, I hadn't noticed until last week that the RHS mirror aims downwards when I put the car in reverse. I thought the mirror memory was going nuts! Turns out it was just me.
Love the feature, but I'll never be able to look at that mirror without laughing at myself!
Been absent awhile; seemed like a good reason to stop by and post.
Cheers,
- Leo

Re: You can turn it off...
Yeah, why would you want to turn it off? It's one of the best "small features" on the car, and certainly one of the most useful. Gets lots of plaudits from passengers who normally motor in "lesser" machines.

I turn it off when backing "up" my driveway...
My driveway slopes up about 15 deg and when the mirror is down, I get to see the ground when what I want to see is the tree on that side of the driveway.

Why I leave mine off 99% of the time...
Yeah, why would you want to turn it off?
Well, most of the time I'm backing in to a spot I don't want to see the ground, I want to see what's on that side of the car.
I agree that it's a really cool feature, and I'm sure it's use is largely dependent on where/how one parks. For me, it's mostly off except in those rare conditions when I'm not sure where the curb is. Those that routinely park next to the curb probably leave it on.

I have the dilemma of having to...
back into a garage where it's best off and parallel parking often where it's best on. I rarely remember to switch it; so it's usually on and off for long stretches.
