n00b question..recommendation for spark plugs
Looking for replacements for 2.7T, factory installed were NGK's pfr60 and then Bosch F7 LTCR.
My mechanis says that platinum plugs are not that good for my engine..

Platinum lasts longer, but isn't better. In fact it takes more energy in most cases.
Copper will have to be replaced more often (think 30 to 50K vs 80 to 100K), but tend to work better. If you do a search of this forum, you'll find plenty of technical detail.

OEM are NGK PFR6Q (not O). Also, if you leave plugs in for longer than 40k in the 2.7tt, you are
crazy and asking for trouble, IMO - regardless of type of plug. Our heads are aluminum, which is soft and the plugs threads can rust-weld if they stay in too long, which is a very bad thing!
