Default Yep.....

...you'll also need an alignment at the very least (assuming that the tie rods are OK).

If you are asking for tire recommendations, then I think the Michelin Pilots (either the normal summer ones or the A/S) should fit the bill. I'd probably opt for the A/S even if you are in a "no snow" climate because they'll just give you greater security in all weather conditions

Default Allow me to be the dissenting voice... : it depends -->

Where do you live? Weather conditions may dictate what you should do - if you expect a lot of snow, probably wise to get all 4 replaced. If not, maybe you'll only need fronts. I replaced my fronts only at 36k - same issue: shoulders worn. Now I have 44k on my original Conti's on the rear and I bet they'll last another 10k easily.

Default Miami .. lots of rain..

really only need them to last 'til next July (around another 12k) but since I always have the little one in the car, want to make sure it's safe.

Default Yes.

Get your tie rod ends and alignment checked.

Default I agree new tires are in order. The Michelin Pilots A/S are good although pricey.

Someone on this board either just got or ordered ContiExtremeContact from Tire Rack. Apparently they are an excellent alternative, without the high price. I put a set of Michelin's on my wife's Lexus GS and they are a great tire. I will consider a set of the Conti's for my A6 this winter. I am at 24k miles and have noticed the front outer edge wearing out. Hmmm.

Agree, only two needed. Just get the same tire if you only do two.

Default Then you've answered your question: if you have any doubts about the safety of the -->

remaining tires, best change all 4, especially when you've got those cute little toddlers in the back!
