Default Thorough inspection

Once you accept that car, all you'll have to rely on is the dealer's goodwill and the AoA warranty. Niether are 100% sure things. I'd advise that your main objective would be to check for anything you can sense in a final check drive and a thorough visual inspection. You should be given the opportunity to record any deficiencies in writing. If its significant, make 'em fix it BEFORE you sign off and they get their $$.

Default Some things to look at...

I'll miss several things but I'm sure others will fill in.

1. Check windshield for distortion. If there is significant distortion you have to decide if you want to risk having it replaced.

2. Drive it and listen for rattles. Have any noticable ones fixed before delivery.

3. Check front seats to make sure they are secure. Some report loose seats.

4. Check paint and body for scratches, dings or possible body work. Look closely at all panels. Yes even on a new car. Specifically ask if there have been any repairs or alterations done to the car. This is to cover yourself in case you find out later that they fixed a shippiing accident and did not disclose it.

5. Let them know well in advance if you don't want them to drill holes and mount your front license plate. Some will do it anyway even if you request them not to.

6. Make sure both of your remotes are programmed and have the sales guy show you how to set the key fobs up.

7. Look in the FAQ area and decide if you want them to reprogram your Central Locking System. Again, some will do it, some won't. It's best to ask before you pick up the car. https://www.audiworld.com/tech/elec36.shtml

8. Check the spare and make sure it is a full size spare and that it has air in it (no leaks).

9. Go down the options list and make sure evrything is there. Sounds trivial but sometimes they screw up and in your state of excitment you don't notice it.

10. Take a tire gauge with you and check the tire pressures before driving it.

11. Check all the fluid levels and make sure all caps and covers are in place.

12. Test all of the lights and electricals.

13. They should give you a full tank of gas.

14. Check brake light operation when you depress the brake pedal. Some have noticed significant travel before the lights come on. It can be a safety hazard if there is a lot of travel. Back up to a wall to test this.

15. If you have the Nav system, make sure it is operating correctly and you have the right disk.

16. Check proper operation of the A/C. If it is cool, it won't come on and you may find later that it is not operating correctly.

17. If you have one of the Sport packages make sure you have acceptable tires. Some come with All Seasons.

18. Check the mileage. If it is a new car it should have less than 100 miles on it. If it has more it may have been demo-ed a lot.

19. Make sure shipping spacers are removed from the suspension.

20. Make sure the saleperson describes all the features on the sound system and have them show you where the code is.

21. Check to make sure all the tools are in the toolkit. Especially the wheel mount alignment tool.

I'm sure this sounds **** but you're spending about 40K here so save yourself some grief up front. It can also be fun just getting acquainted with your new Audi.

You can have the locks operate various ways as well as be able to operate the windows remotely from the key fobs. Check the link I included, it explains everything.

Did you talk to sales or service? Some sales people might not know. If the service folks claim ignorance then they probably don't want to do it. You can print the link out and take it in and ask again when you show up.

If that doesn't work you can try calling another dealer and asking. Another option is asking here if there is someone local with a VAG tool that would be willing to do it for you.

If you live in a state that has front license plates why wouldn't you want them to drill holes for the front bracket? Is there some other way to mount it?

Thanks
