Default New toy.

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/22057/pict0235.jpg"></center><p>This just arrived in the mail, along with necessary connectors.

The new DVD RNE Nav + is REALLY nice. Unlike the older DX Nav + systems, the drive for the Nav DVD also plays audio disks and MP3s. There are also two SD memory card slots (behind the motorized, flip-down screen) for MP3s. The signals are also there for the CD changer and video inputs, albeit with different connectors than the DX. I also notice that there is microphone inputs and outputs, which I believe is for voice recognition. The MMI interface is very intuitive. Good thing, because I didn't get any documentation with system.

I can't comment on the functionality of the navigation system yet, as I won't have the data DVD for another few days.

Default The new RS6s in Europe came with them. I don't see anything that would stop me from putting it in.

I think there was originally concern about the map data DVDs, but I believe that is not a problem anymore.

Default Sweet NAV unit Steve. Are you planning a C5 A6 install?. (more)

- Can we see a pic of the connectors on the back?
- Is there a sticker w/the schematic of the rear connectors attached to the top of the unit?
- Will the faceplate design fit the C5 A6? (doesn't look it), or will you have to custiomize?

You're breaking some ground here.....tell us more

Default Yes, I plan on installing it.

The connector on the back is totally different than the old Symphony radios or Nav + units. I got the connectors in Germany, but my guess is that they will be good US part numbers. I'll take a pic when I have a chance.

Yes, there is sticker with the pinout of the unit.

Yes, this unit is for a C5 A6. It is/was available on the '04 C5 A6 in Europe. The part number is 4B0 035 192 P.
