Newbie - Buying an '98 A6
I'm in negotiations to by a '98 A6 2.8 for my 17 yr old son. Carfax report shows a few minor things replaced such as throttle bottle ...but nothing major such as water pump, CV, or alternator. Anything to look out for? Car has 150k.

98 is a pretty good year as long as there is no rust around the radio antenna. You need to find out if the transmission was serviced and if the timing belt and all cam related seals were changed.
Timing belt should be done every 75-90k, same with trans fluid.

look out for oil leaks along oil pan valve covers gaskets and if its a quattro the tranny prop shaft seal. they leak very slowly.
