Default No motion sensor in 2003 A6?

After reading through the manual I was supposed to find the button on the bottom of the B-pillar that swithes off the motion sensor in my car (A6q 3.0, Canadian model). But it is just not there! It indicated me that the motion sensor was deleted in the new model. To check it out I activated the alarm when I was sitting in the car and started to dance around. Nothing happened.....
Or this is some kind of "inteligent" motion sensor??
Does anyone know the differences between the 2002 and 2003 models?

Default Here are the 2003 changes....

This is direct from Audi: "...minor equipment deletions on A6 include the alarm interior motion sensor, and the servotronic steering on the A6 3.0." Other changes noted are the inclusion of 17" wheels and summer performance tires, sport suspension, sport steering wheel, and leather seating surfaces as standard equipment for the 2.7T. Shipping charges went from $645 to $660 and the 2.7T gets a 2.8% price increase to take the base up to $40,850. Most of my info applies to the 2.7T since that's what I ordered. In colors, the pearlescent white was discontinued. Tiptronic controls were eliminated from the steering wheel and no mention is made of audio controls on the wheel. The options packages have been simplified. PPX (Premium) now gets you the sunroof, auto-dim interior mirror with compass, auto-dim/folding exterior mirrors, HomeLink, driver's side memory (NO passenger side memory), and Xenons. The PAW (cold weather)package gives the heated seats PLUS a ski sack. The PCC luxury package adds premium leather and sunshades. The 17" high performance summer tires can be replaced at no charge with 17" all seasons. (PRJ). These are both 235/45X17" tires. This information is directly from my order sheet so I know it's good. Hope this helps.

See saholz's message above. It seems there's no sensor in the 3.0 A6. I haven't tested mine, though.

Thanks for the info. No wonder why I was not able to find the button....
I can second most of your observations: no passenger seat memory, no triptronic on steering wheel, BUT I have the audio control on it. However, I got 16" tires as standard instead of 17". Looks like there are same differences between the US and Canadian model.

Default Forgot to mention this....

...the pre-wiring for the 6 CD changer in the trunk has also been eliminated. (The 17" tires and sport suspension package is only standard with the 2.7T ... the 3.0 continues with the 16" wheels and tires). It appears Audi is trying to simplify their electrical wiring. This may reduce some weight and also eliminate some sources of potential service problems.

Default &^#$%&$% thing just goes off in the wind anyway...

(See earlier nposts on this forum.) With the motion sensor, if you leave the windows down a bit and forget to shut it off, the damn thing goes off with any sort of breeze. No loss.
