No power steering at idle
Hi all,
I've got a 2002 A6 that just had the power steering pump replaced. It has no power steering at idle but bring the rpm's up and it's fine. Could the new pump be bad? Any other ideas?

Yes, new pump could be bad. Make sure fluid level is good though and it doesn't have air in lines. If you cut the wheel back and forth lock to lock with the it helps get the air out, though it will also foam up the reservoir for a bit.
Knowledge probably long lost, but back in the day people used to put in either the "sport" Servotronic relay or the S6 one to change the feel. The standard one gives the most boost and the S6 one the least. Small chance it could be way back when on yours someone swapped it out, if owned by an enthusiast. Or, if you have sport suspension it is the one level lower boost one than comfort. Over the years as my pump wore I swapped mine back to stock to keep better power assist.
