I can see that this period of time will not be a pleasant one, what with the people afraid of the immediate outdating of their cars here, and the people that don't recognize a beautiful sedan, there, etc.

You hit the nail on the head. The new model makes
the current 99-03's "late-models". Such is life. While I havn't seen the new model, I am more interested in the mechanical improvements than the body style! Looking forward to getting the new 05' in say 07' after someone has paqid for the initial depreciation!

If some of the dynamic improvements (as suggested by Potomac2.7t) come to fruition on the new
model, that will make it very attractive. I already think I'll be okay with the new grille, and the only other possible disappointment for me would be if they <i>didn't</i> make a few more changes and it basically looked like a re-skinning of the existing model.
In any case, it's me and the Avant for a couple more years before any decision is necessary...
