Default ok i'm asking this question w/o looking up the right data...i'm busy working

but i've had this question that I wanted answering.. since VW owns audi and porsche... there's a lot of cross platform engines and yada yadas... the twin turbo V8 used in the Porsche Cayenne.. is that based off of or the same twin turbo V8 in the RS6? Or is that twin turbo V8 in the cayenne a variant of their old water cooled 928 V8 with two turbos on it.

I *wasn't* criticising your love of a good car book/magazine/website, as I too love such things.

Default It may have been true at some time, but it doesn't seem so now

VW may own some part of Porsche, but I'm pretty sure Porsche is a individual entity now.

Volkswagen AG home page

Default It is true. VW is a parent company of Audi, Porsche and I believe Lambo too.

Last time I checked, you are CORRECT, kimcheejeegae!

Default oh yeah i forgot about lambo too.. hehe...very nice collection of car companies...very very nice

ya know what i came across the other day.. off topic yes... in the 1950's Ford MOtor Co, had the opportunity to purchase Ferrari.. THAT'S JUST INSANE. I'm glad they didn't. And Dr. Ferdinand Porsche used to work for the Chrysler auto group, but left that, designed the VW bug.. .and then went on to create the first porsche .. (forgot the model, wish i had my book here) but it's the one before the 550 spyder.. oh car history.. just gotta love it.
