Default Ordered a new audi for the wife = price questions

I currently have an A6 2.7T and I just ordered my wife a 2004 A4 Avant 1.8T 6speed. It is slated to be transported in the 12th week of the year. I ordered it last Friday. This Monday, I talked a friend into buying a 2002 cert. pre-owned A6 2.7T from the same dealer (but not my saleswoman) for $30K. And finally, another friend just left to order a 2004 S4 from my same saleswoman (I also referred this friend).

When I was ordering mine, we chatted about price a bit, and I basically got that the price for a customized vehicle is not that negotiable. That may or may not be true, but with the other two cars that I was responsible for selling (and the dealer is aware of this), it would seem that I would be able to get a better deal. Sticker for my wife's is $34,195. Invoice is $31,074. What kind of deal sounds reasonable?

Any advice?

Thanks in advance,
David

Default $32,000 tops.

Tell her the price and tell her not to call you until they meet your price. Where are you located? There is always a dealer in town that will be do $1000 over invoice.

Default Already got her the sport package with 17's ...

Maybe they should give me some 18s for my A6.

So $32000? Unfortunately there is not another Audi dealer for quite some ways. I am in Albuquerque, NM. The closest would be Denver, I think.

So even though I ordered it custom (although the car should be sellable to anyone: Ocean blue, platinum, cold wx, premium, lighting, sport), and put down a "non-refundable" $1000 deposit (that the saleswoman said they almost always will refund), I should just say $32K or else. Sorry to be so ignorant, I have never had to do this before.

Thanks again,
Dave

Default Tell your friends to hold their orders unless you get some break on the price

what a ***** of a sales person you have there. You volunteerly introduced some more customers and all they could do is charge you window price!!! Custom order or not the profit is still there and they don't even have to hold those cars in the lot. Bring that deal to another dealer and I wouldn't be suprised if someone else won't grab your group sale an offer to give each of you more discount.

Well, the pre-owned car has already been purchased, and my other friend getting the S4 is ordering hers now. She will be in my same state, but with a $2500 deposit. I really like me saleswoman thus far. We haven't really started mentioning price yet. That original conversation where she told me there are usually not discounts for ordered cars was before the other two buyers were involved.

Default If you haven't started mentioning price yet.............

Then you haven't even begun to negotiate yet. If you don't ask for a better deal, you will absolutely not get one. I am sure that the dealer and salewoman really appreciates your referrals but I can assure you that they will not voluntarily offer a discount unless you ask for it. I don't care how special the car is and how many options you are getting on it, you can do better than MSRP. If you are not willing to negotiate, you are just giving money away. Good luck.
