some info on install- just installed one in 2003 A6 3.0

You need a specific cable($95) for Audis and a bracket kit($15). But you only need bracket kit if you are NOT going install the Phatbox where trunk cd changer goes.
In theory phatbox fits in location of trunk CD changer. However there some indentations in the changer bracket that prevent the Phatbox from just slipping into the changer location. A Dremel tool and grinding wheel solve this problem in 10 minutes.
Additionally the holes of the changer bracket do not align with the holes in the Phatbox. I drilled 2 new holes in the changer bracket though you could drill holes in the Phabox frame.
