A Pillar Trim Removal on 2003 A6
I'm trying to remove the trim that goes from the lower left corner of the windshield around the top portion of the door and ends just over the drivers head on my 2003 A6. Do the '03s also have that release tab like prior years, and if so where is it? Any suggestions for removal without damage? My dealer did some work on sun roof and the sun visor mount bracket isn't seated fully in place. The 2003 headliner changed from prior years, the A Pillar now includes the area where the sunvisor is mounted, and the illustration I found on this site although very detailed is for an earlier model year. Thanks for any suggestions.

Re: Here you go...
Thanks for the reply. I saw these pictures but I'm not sure. I my '03 they eliminated the small section between the front and rear door but kept the screw hold in the same place. Is the wire tab pull for the release in this spot, behind the grab handle or not there anymore? I don't see it. Perhaps I'm not looking in the right place.

Yes I have side cRe: Do you have side curtain airbags? If not, then there is no wire release needed
Yes.I have side curtain air bags but I don't see the tab to pull; should it be by the grab handle? May the dealer messed up.

Yeah, there should be the brass colored oval washer to release the wire under the grab handle...
...it should be nested in the hole for the foreward hole of the grab handle. If it is nto there, the dealer might not have bothered to re-install it (or worse, broke the locking wire in the first place).
If you tug and cannot release the clips that run down the A-pillar, the stop...you'll damage the pillar trim.
