Please identify and help with this trim piece
Hi,
This is a pic of my 2002 A6, which is in basically great condition.
--However my beautiful bride backed it up with the passenger door open and bent out the piece of trim in the pic.
1) Can someone identify this piece for me?
2) It's still pliable--can it be "bent back and re-attached-- its some sort of plastic- not metal?
3)Anyone know of a DIY link (youtube) wiki, or whatever so maybe I can do this myself?
I do mainly mechanical work-- but want to give this a try.
Thanks in advance!
Bob

?tips on removing the trim?
Thanks, Huskerbob,
I found the screw on the hinge end of the door on the inside, and managead to twist it off. But it broke with about 1/2 inch of the screw attached so the trip strip appears to be free.
--Any tips on getting this off the rail without damaging it?
I tried pulling pretty hard on it-- but I'm afraid I'll dammage it while trying to fix it.
Thanks again,
Bob

Yeah, the little studs break off easily but those just keep it from moving and don't really hold it on. Some adhesive at those two spots did the trick for me.

Thanks!
I did mine a few months ago, before I sold it, and if I recall correctly it slides off of the clips to the rear. I supppose it might need some veener schlider sprayed on it to get it moving.
