POLL: self-dimming oem side mrrs OR non-dimming, tinted, euro blind-spot mrrs?

Personally, I always do a shoulder check before changing lanes. It's a habit that I've cultivated since the day I started driving. However, not everyone does it, and I don't want to be driving next to your aunt if she has tinted or dimmed side view mirrors. That's why I consider them a safety hazard. Those mirrors are suposed to be an extra measure of safey, but they're useless to me when they're dimmed at the wrong time.

Mine always come on at low light levels regardless of whether or not there are...
any light sources behind me. I'd rather have a manual overide, and use them only when <i>I</i> thought they were necessary.
