Default Freaking Awesome. I'm loving it.

The driving dynamics are hugely superior to the A6/C5. I'm driving much faster on the same twisty roads. Braking later, accelerating faster, maintaining higher speeds round the curves. All of that with the standard BMW suspension, it's not even sports. The body roll is virtually non-existent and the driver roll (how much centrifugal force I feel as a driver) is equally almost non-existent. The seats are more comfortable (BMW comfort seats vs the Audi's Sports seats). In every way imaginable I'm loving it.

The downsides - well I've lost the Avantness, but I could have chosen a touring and kept it, so that wasn't important at all. I can't fit my winter wheels/tyres in the back now (I have to put one on each rear passenger seat and two in the trunk) but I chose to store my not-in-use wheels/tyres at the place that changes them for me, so I won't have to be doing that again. The other downside is I've lost 4WD, but considering I work at home, and German main roads are cleared with lightning efficiency, I'll manage.

The autobahn performance is also a big improvement. I hadn't realized how slow the Audi was between 120mph and 155mph until I got into this thing. It would leave a 2.7T that's behind me so far behind. With only 33BHP more than a 4.2, that would be closer.

It's fun having a sub 6-second car again (5.7s even with automatic).

So yes, you could say I'm happy with it :-)

Default AWD was not the primary reason why I got it

Why would people in CA or Florida buy them?

I spend less time cleaning it when I drive it only on clear days, primarily on the weekends. It stays garaged most of the time. I use the low profile beater to drive into the city and park on the street. It has take a beating in the open public so It makes no sense to drive the Audi into town. The gets better gas mileage and is outstanding in the snow.

So I'm not reading the AUDI bedtime stories or tucking it in at night In a few years the AUdi will be the beater and hopefully a Porsche or Vette will be parked in the garage

Default nice....

I know that centrifugal roll feeling!! Take a turn at 10mph and have to tighten neck muscles....WTF!? I like the BMW, congrats. Quattro is almost a necessity in northern Illinois "country" in the winter. Absolutely love my 2.7T, but I'm starting to feel a sportier sedan with an older(haha "older", my car is already 8 yrs old) Audi for winter would be nicer. Especially if it got better mileage in the summer.
